This is an original one-sheet poster made circa 1894 advertising the "American Extravaganza Company" performing at the Chicago Opera House. Features 3 images of star actor/singer/dancer/comedian "Edwin Foy" and acknowledges "David Henderson Manager". The multi-talented Eddie Foy Sr. was the headline act for this and other Vaudeville traveling troupes from before 1888 until his death in 1928. Once a full-sheet bill measuring 27" x 41", after nearly 130 years this fragile antique has eroded on the borders leaving it closer to 26" x 40". Age-yellowed Vaudeville banner shows original travel folds plus wrinkles, tatters, and tears and has been plastic-wrapped to a foamboard backer for some stability. Irreplaceable ephemera has artwork, colors, and print in remarkable vintage condition deserving professional preservation from an appreciative lucky collector.
