  • Condition: This girdle is in wearable condition. There is one area in front where the elastic in the knit looks a little strange, like it got stretched, but didn't full stretch back into shape (see photos). The crotch is very clean and the girdle otherwise looks great!

    Vintage 50s 60s SPORT MATES WOMEN'S KNIT SPORTS GIRDLE w/ GARTERS sz XS
    Crazy though it seems, women used to wear girdles while exercising! This vintage girdle was made by Sport Mates, "Sportswear's closest friend." The body of the girdle is made with what feels like a wool / elastic blend that is knit. The crotch is nylon. It has an elastic waistband and four garters (let's not forget those stockings when we exercise, gals)! It is in clean, wearable condition. Its only flaw is a bit of the elastic in the knit is stretched out. Check the photos for a visual description.
    The original size of this girdle was 27. It's very small, but it does stretch. It's likely akin to a contemporary size XS. It fits snugly on our size 2/4 mannequin. Because every figure is different, please...
