Hand painted Japanese pottery 2-handle vase 13in moriage slip trailing Miyako

Description

Offered is this lovely hand painted pottery vase made in Japan by Miyako. The decorative style includes a great deal of moriage slip trailing to form designs in various segments of the vase.
The painted pink and yellow hibiscus flowers on the front are raised above the surface, as is the green foliage that surrounds the blossoms.
The vase has two angular handles reminiscent of the Art Deco period.
The painting on the back features a simpler floral design.
Buff hold finish appears on the handles, base and rim. Gold also frames the flowers on the front.
The vase stands 13 inches high (33 cm).
It is in very good used condition. No chips or cracks. Gold trim in good condition. There is some loss of surface trim where the slip trailing has been lost. This is most noticeable on one handle. (See last photo.)
