    Description

This is a rare broadside (single page program) from week of October 5th, 1936 for the Pre-Broadway engagement of the JULIUS J. and PHILIP G. EPSTEIN comedy "AND STARS REMAIN" at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. (The production would open October 12th, 1936 at the Guild Theatre in New York City and run for only 56 performances.) ..... The play starred CLIFTON WEBB and HELEN GAHAGAN and featured CLAUDIA MORGAN, MARY SARGENT, RICHARD BARBEE, CHARLES RICHMAN, SUZANNE JACKSON, BEN SMITH and EDGAR KENT ..... CREDITS: Book by JULIUS J. and PHILIP G. EPSTEIN; Sets designed by ALINE BERNSTEIN; Production Staged by PHILIP MOELLER; Produced by THE THEATRE GUILD ..... DETAILS: The single page, one-sided program measures 5 1/2" X 16 1/2" inches and includes full production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios. (Note: Due to its unusual size, the program has been scanned in two separate images to maximize the text. Also, it has been photographed against a red background and does not have a border.) ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a fold across the middle and two light horizontal creases, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
