Description
This is a nice 1845
"One Twelfth Real"
from the
"Republic of Paraguay"
.
The very first coin from Paraguay, it was only struck this one year and it is also the only coin struck in the
"Real"
denomination. The next issue of coinage from Paraguay was not until 1870 when
"Centesimos"
were issued.
In 1841 Carlos Antonio López became the first President of Paraguay. He served as President until his death in 1862.
Weight: 6.16 Gram, 24 Millimeter, Copper.
