1800''s Antique 3-1/2" Long 'Egg-Shaped' Bone Plumb Bob

3-1/2" Long 'Egg-Shaped' Bone Plumb Bob
.
There is no maker mark.
This very early
bob is in Very Good 'used tool' condition with minor discoloration marks typical of this aged natural material.  I don't see any cracks but there are a couple of tiny nicks off of the edge of the removeable top.  The bob does not have the typical steel tip.  The maker turned a very nice bone tip instead.  The very nicely turned ornate top cap is removable for you to add your string.  The threads are in good condition but the threads are 'fine' and you should take care not to cross-thread them.  The bob has approx. a 1-7/16" dia. body and weighs approx. 3.5 oz.
